What a website costs an auction, and what fixes it

Most of the friction in an online or hybrid sale is not the bidding platform, it is the website around it: a lot list nobody can filter, a registration form nobody can finish on a phone, and a closing time nobody can convert to their own time zone.

  • Lot listings
Before:Photos and lot lists emailed around or posted to a social page with no search or filters. After:A catalog page with category, status and closing-time filters, built for the sale.
  • Registration
Before:A downloadable PDF form a first-time bidder has to print, fill in and send back. After:A real page on the site that collects what the sale needs and confirms a paddle number.
  • Closing times
Before:A closing time with no stated time zone, so remote bidders are left guessing. After:A visible countdown on every lot, with the time zone stated plainly.
  • Settlement
Before:Invoices and pickup terms sent as a follow-up email that some winning bidders never open. After:A settlement page laying out the invoice, buyer premium and pickup window in one place.
  • Site speed
Before:A slow page that stalls in the last few minutes before a lot closes, the exact moment it matters most.After:90+ PageSpeed, served from the edge, checked as part of the build.

The pages a sale actually needs

Every plan includes the full page set: a catalog that filters, a registration flow that confirms a paddle, and a settlement page once a sale closes. See every feature.

  • Catalog pages built for lots, not blog posts

A sale catalog with filters by category, closing time and status, not a generic list of posts.

  • Paddle and bidder registration built into the site

A registration page that collects what your sale needs before a bidder ever reaches the floor or the feed.

  • Live sale status and countdown

A visible countdown and current-bid status on catalog and lot pages, so nobody is guessing when a lot closes.

  • Settlement and results pages

A clean page for invoices, pickup terms and past results once a sale closes.

  • The AI Engine

AI agents that answer bidder questions and route consignment inquiries, without giving bidding or legal advice.

  • Managed hosting and security

Cloudflare hosting with SSL, CDN, DDoS protection and unmetered bandwidth, included on every plan.

How a sale moves through the site

The paddle to settlement flow

Every plan is built around this sequence: a bidder registers, gets a paddle number, watches the sale, wins a lot, and is settled, and the website has a specific job to do at each step.

1

Registration

A bidder fills in the registration page: contact details, payment on file where your process requires it, and the terms for that sale.

The website owes: A fast, mobile-first registration page that confirms what was submitted, not a PDF nobody can finish on a phone.

2

Paddle number issued

Your platform confirms a paddle or bidder ID once registration is complete, and the site reflects that confirmation back.

The website owes: An on-screen confirmation the moment it happens, so a bidder is not left refreshing an inbox to know they are in.

3

Bidding

The bidder watches the catalog and lot pages as the sale runs, checking status, current bid and time remaining.

The website owes: An accurate live status and countdown on every lot, reflecting what your bidding platform reports in real time.

4

Winning bid

A lot closes and a winning bid is recorded by your bidding platform, with the buyer premium calculated against it.

The website owes: A lot page that updates to a closed, sold status clearly, with no ambiguity about whether a bid was the winner.

5

Invoice and settlement

The winning bidder needs to see exactly what they owe: hammer price, buyer premium, tax where it applies, and how to pay.

The website owes: A settlement page laying out the invoice, payment method and pickup or shipping window in one place, not a follow-up email.

6

Results and archive

Once settled, the sale becomes part of your public record, useful to sellers deciding whether to consign and to search engines indexing your history.

The website owes: A searchable results archive that updates automatically, without a manual rebuild after every sale.

Built for how you actually sell

The same platform runs a very different sale for an estate auctioneer, a benefit gala and a farm equipment sale. Each sub-niche gets its own page structure, not a generic template with the name swapped.

Three plans, one build fee charged after launch

What clients tell us

  • Bidders used to email asking when a lot closed. Now the catalog page shows a live countdown and those emails mostly stopped.

Owner, estate sale auction companyMoved from a Facebook-only listing process

  • The paddle registration page finally matches how our sale actually runs. New bidders stopped calling the office to ask what to do next.

Operations lead, farm equipment auctioneerReplaced a PDF registration form

  • Sponsors can see the packages before the gala instead of hearing about them from a printed program on the night.

Event director, benefit auction committeeSite built ahead of an annual fundraiser

  • Having a real archive of past sale results made it easier to talk to new consignors about what similar lots have brought.

Questions people ask before they buy

See every question, grouped by topic.

What does BidWebStudio actually build?

A website for your auction operation: a home page listing current and upcoming sales, a catalog page for lots, individual lot pages, a paddle or bidder registration page, terms of sale, and a settlement or results page once a sale closes. We do not run the bidding itself; the site presents your sales and links or embeds the bidding platform, CRM or payment processor you already use.

How long until my site is live?

7 days on Paddle, 10 on Rostrum while the AI agents are trained, and 15 on Block with the content engine running. The clock starts at the onboarding call, not at purchase, so the sooner the onboarding form is in, the sooner the site is live.

Can the site carry more than one sale at a time?

Yes. The catalog structure is built to list several active or upcoming sales on the home page, each linking to its own set of lots, closing times and terms, which matters for an operation running more than one sale room or event.

What counts as a revision, and what happens after five?

A revision is any change request you send, and there is no limit on how much goes into one. A new sale category, an updated terms of sale page, a different lot photo layout, a colour change: each is one revision. So is something much larger. "Add a spec-sheet layout for equipment lots and a provenance layout for antiques" is one revision, not two. 5 are included every month. After the fifth, each additional revision is a flat $20, with no cap on how many you can buy and no hourly billing anywhere. Every revision is completed within 2 to 5 working days of you sending it, whatever the size.

How do I actually request a change?

Raise it in your client portal. You describe the change, attach anything we need such as a new lot list or updated terms, and it lands with the team as a tracked request so you can see where it is. You can also email us or reply to any thread with our team, and we log it for you. Unused revisions do not roll over to the next month.

Can a revision update lot pages mid-sale?

Yes, a revision can update lot listings, closing times or terms while a sale is running. Send the change through the client portal and it is completed within 2 to 5 working days, so a correction does not sit unresolved through the close of a live sale.
